Police have closed a road in Littleborough following what witnesses have described as a 'quad bike crash'. Canal Street near Littleborough railway station is cordoned off following the incident.
Pictures from the scene show a mud-splattered red quad bike on the pavement inside the cordon. Police and an ambulance were also in attendance. He added: "There's a quad bike parked on the pavement inside the cordon. Apparently it's gone into a fence near the railway bridge." Another witness said the quad was one of three being ridden towards Littleborough town centre from the direction of Hollingworth Lake when the crash happened.
Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "Canal Street in Littleborough is CLOSED from Inghams Lane to Halifax Road due to Police Incident.
