Emergency services were scrambled to a busy road in Trafford this afternoon after a crash. Two cars were involved in the smash on Wood Lane in Partington shortly before 3:30pm.
Police, paramedics and firefighters all attended after it was reported to them a woman had suffered a broken bone. She was handed over to the care of paramedics the fire service said.
The road remained closed as emergency services dealt with the aftermath. Pictures from the scene showed the airbags having been deployed in at least one of the cars, both of which appeared to be badly damaged.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At just after 3.20pm on Saturday (December 28) one fire engine from Altrincham Community Fire Station attended a crash involving two vehicles on Wood Lane, Partington. "Firefighters assisted in the care of one person before handing them to the care of North West Ambulance Service.
