Road closed after leaking main sends water pouring down street in Mossley

hereGerry Walter, who lives nearby, says a 'large stream' of water has been pouring down the road since it was dug up on Sunday.

He says water had been leaking into the cellar of a neighbouring property, causing it to flood, for around two weeks prior to that.

A spokeswoman for United Utilities said: "It’s always a balance between trying to fix a leak as quickly as we can, but trying to avoid disrupting local water supplies and traffic."This particular leak is on a pipe serving around 200 local properties.
