Riyad Mahrez played down the significance of Manchester City being top at Christmas as Pep Guardiola's side march on in the Premier League.
An eighth win in a row sent the Blues three points clear in the title race ahead of the Boxing Day fixtures, with Mahrez continuing his excellent goal record this season by netting in the 4-0 win at Newcastle.
City are well-placed in the league as the halfway mark approaches, and also have the knowledge of knowing that they have gone on to lift the title on the two occasions when they have sat at the top of the tree on Christmas Day.
