Rita Ora and Sam Smith have saved the 2020 Big Weekend festival by agreeing to be part of a virtual event later this month (May 2020). Radio 1 bosses were forced to cancel the event, set for Dundee, Scotland from May 22 to 24, due to the coronavirus crisis, but now they have announced plans for an online alternative, which will feature performances from artists’ homes and archive sets.
