Rita Ora EE advert 'quietly dropped' after backlash over lockdown rule breaches

A TV advert featuring Rita Ora was shelved following the backlash over her lockdown rule breaches. EE bosses decided to pull the plug early on the pop star’s Apple 12 Pro launch campaign after she was caught throwing a party and failing to quarantine.

One source said: “EE took the lockdown breach very seriously and didn’t want to be seen to be endorsing her actions by having her as the face of their brand.” A gold-clad avatar of Rita performs her hit Let You Love Me with London’s famous skyline as her stage in the advert.

But EE acted after she came under fire at the end of November for hosting the lavish 30th birthday bash for pals including Cara and Poppy Delevingne at a restaurant in West London.
