The PSG forward was in phenomenal form as he bagged three goals of real quality to help his side comeback from a goal down to beat Barcelona 4-1 at the Nou Camp.
On a night where the deadlock was broken by a penalty from six-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi, it was Mbappe who stole the show.
BT Sport presenter Gary Lineker suggested after the match "we may be witnessing the changing of the guard". And Ferdinand was in full agreement. "This guy is the guy who is going to take over the throne from Messi and Ronaldo when they're done with it," Ferdinand said. "He's gone and given a statement.
