Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand singled out Anthony Elanga for praise after the youngster put in another excellent performance against Brentford on Wednesday night.
Elanga has been given a chance by interim manager Ralf Rangnick, starting the last two league games. The Swedish forward followed up a strong performance against Aston Villa on Saturday with a goal against the Bees on Wednesday, opening the scoring in a 3-1 win.
Elanga's regular runs in behind the Brentford defence, as well as his defensive work when United didn't have the ball, further strengthened Rangnick's decision to start and trust the 19-year-old.
Former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opted to keep Elanga with the United squad this season instead of letting him leave on loan and Ferdinand admitted he's been impressed. "It’s nice to see someone like Elanga come in and do well," said Ferdinand on BT Sport. "Superstars all around him.
