Ricky Gervais has revealed he was forced to negotiate with lawyers ahead of the 2020 Golden Globes over his risqué joke about 85-year-old Dame Judi Dench.

The actor, 58, said he had to check that he was not violating any libel laws or broadcasting decency standards when making a crude comment about Dame Judi.
