Pointless star Richard Osman has reportedly quit the hugely popular BBC show after thirteen series on our screens. According to reports, the 51 year old presenter, who stars alongside friend Alexander Armstrong, has decided to step down from the show he has fronted for almost 30 series.
Instead, he will focus on his hugely successful career as an author, following the popularity of his books including The Thursday Murder Club.
A source told The Sun: "Quiz fans and housewives all over the country will be gutted by this news. "Richard has become a staple of the daytime schedule but sadly all good things must come to an end." They added: "His departure is completely amicable but he just does not have enough hours in the day to do everything so sadly something had to give. "His literary career is going from strength to strength so he’s having to be slightly more choosy with what he does TV-wise." It's rumoured that Richard will remain part of the team by hosting the celebrity spin-off series, before stepping away completely.
