The Good Morning Britain host, 65, is seen plunging head first down a chute in a preview clip from the episode, landing in a mixture of rotten fruit and vegetables.
Amid giggles, host Ant & Dec suggest that plummeting down the chute “head-first” is the “safest option, then struggle to contain their laughter as Richard vanishes into the smelly mess below.
Ant is heard to snigger: “That image will stay with me for a long time.” Richard was not impressed by the challenge. “There’s about seven tonnes of fruit, I’ll never find a star in here”, he complains whilst being showered with more rotting food.
