Comedian Richard Lewis was seemingly doing OK just weeks before his death.The “Curb Your Enthusiasm” alum died following a heart attack in LA on Tuesday.
He was 76.Lewis — who suffered from Parkinson’s disease — noted that he was “doing quite well” during an interview with People on Feb.
9.“I have some occasional walking difficulties with Parkinson’s the last couple of years. It’s not major. I’m getting through it fine so far, but I didn’t want to go to, spend five or six hours mingling with so many people,” he said about his health at the time.“It’s just asking for trouble,” the funnyman joked.Lewis missed the Season 12 premiere bash for “Curb Your Enthusiasm” on Jan.
30.While he was “disappointed” to skip the celebration, he noted: “All things considered, I’m doing quite well.” His publicist, Jeff Abraham, confirmed Lewis’ death in a statement to the Post on Wednesday. “His wife, Joyce Lapinsky, thanks everyone for all the love, friendship, and support and asks for privacy at this time,” the statement read.
