Despite reported problems with the band’s performance, sound quality and organisation on the day, it has become the stuff of legend.

It was even the subject of a 2012 film, starring Game of Thrones’s Emilia Clarke and Shamless actor Elliott Tittensor. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the concert, another show was scheduled at Spike Island last summer - this time with popular tribute act the Clone Roses.

Due to the pandemic, it was pushed back until last night (Saturday July 24 2021). It’s fair to say that it’s had some detractors.
