evoke.ieThe return of RTÉ’s hugely popular Dancing With The Stars is in doubt despite hopes that it would go ahead for the 2022 slot, EVOKE can reveal.
An RTÉ spokesman this weekend said that while ‘no decision’ has been made on whether the show will return for another season in 2022, a source at the station said ‘rising [Covid] cases could scupper it’.
The source told EVOKE: ‘It’s hugely popular but it’s also problematic in terms of Covid. ‘But at the moment, it’s still on the table.’ Over in the UK Strictly Come Dancing continued even throughout the pandemic, albeit not without its challenges, on this side of the water Dancing With The Stars has been absent from our screens this year.
