Retired army colonel 'back from the dead' after reading his own obituary

A retired Colonel was reading an Army newsletter when he spotted his own obituary. Col Ron Back, 84, was shocked to see the "sad news" of his passing announced in the Airborne Network.

Following the "embarrassing" mix-up the dad-of-three had to reassure friends and former comrades that he was alive and well.

But Col Back has laughed off the blunder, comparing it to the famous Mark Twain quote 'reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated'.
