Donald John Trump (born June 14, 1946) is the 45th and current president of the United States. Before entering politics, he was a businessman and television personality. Trump was born and raised in the New York City borough of Queens, and received a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School. He took charge of his family's real-estate business in 1971, renamed it The Trump Organization, and expanded its operations from Queens and Brooklyn into Manhattan.
The company built or renovated skyscrapers, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. Trump later started various side ventures, mostly by licensing his name. He owned the Miss Universe and Miss USA beauty pageants from 1996 to 2015, and produced and hosted The Apprentice, a reality television show, from 2003 to 2015. Forbes estimates his net worth to be $3.1 billion.
The final night of the Republican National Convention — featuring Donald Trump‘s speech drew 25.38 million viewers, rising from the same night in 2020, according to Nielsen.
Nielsen said that the audience peaked in the 10:45 p.m. ET to 11 p.m. ET window, with 28.4 million, as Trump recounted the assassination attempt on his life.
The Nielsen figure is across 14 networks, and the measurement is from 10 p.m. ET to 12:15 a.m. ET. An estimated 23.81 million watched the final night of the convention in 2020.
The 2024 audience, though, was smaller than the one in 2016, when Trump’s acceptance speech drew 32.2 million. An estimated 18.36 million viewers were 55 and older; 4.94 million were 35-54; and 1.35 million were 18-34.
