A Renfrewshire care worker has been struck off the register after using an offensive term directed at residents she was supporting at a home for people with disabilities.Hollie McIntyre Hume was working as a relief support worker at Quarriers Village Supported Living Service in Bridge of Weir when she made the vile remark.The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) found six allegations of inappropriate behaviour against her proven.
As well as the insult, Hume was also accused of saying to a resident at the care home “will you f*****g shut up”.She also shut the door on a service user to reduce noise, leaving the individual unable to see staff and withheld another resident’s tablet from them for a prolonged period of time.The incidents all occurred on unknown dates between August and December 2021.
