On Saturday, November 2, Janey Godley passed away following a long struggle with cancer.The beloved Scottish comedian performed sold-out stand-up sets throughout the UK and was known for her large social media following.

She also earned praise from legendary comics such as Sir Billy Connolly, as well as Hollywood celebrities like Mark Hamill.For many Scots, Godley is perhaps best remembered for putting smiles on faces across the country during the Covid-19 pandemic with her Nicola Sturgeon voiceovers.

She also caught the attention of people all over the globe in 2016 when she led a protest against Donald Trump outside his Turnberry hotel, holding up a sign that read: "Trump is a c**t".As reported by the Daily Record, Godley had a difficult upbringing in the East End of Glasgow in the 1960s and 70s.

Living in poverty, both of Godley's parents struggled with alcohol addiction and she was abused by her uncle throughout her childhood.She found her calling when she started performing as a comedian in the mid-1990s, known for her honest and dark humour.
