Restrictions for families visiting loved ones in care homes will be eased from next week. It comes as Plan B measures to help prevent the spread of the Omicron variant were removed from today (January 27).

From next week, there will be no limit on the number of visitors allowed into the care settings, and the self-isolation period will also be cut.
Now, care homes will only have to follow outbreak management rules for 14 days rather than 28 days. By Wednesday 16 February, care workers will be asked to use lateral flow tests before their shifts.
