The family of a 12-year-old girl missing for more than a week say she is now "in good hands" after being found earlier on Wednesday.Jamie-Lee Harvie was last seen in Ayr on Tuesday March 14 at Irvine Train Station, but went on to vanish without a trace.
A sighting of the youngster was reported near Irvine Royal Academy on Saturday March 18 but news was dry on the ground, prompting a renewed police appeal on Tuesday.A member of Jamie-Lee's family has took to social media on Wednesday to inform those following the search that she has been found and is safe.
Police then confirmed she had been found safe in the Irvine area.Her uncle Steven Harvie wrote on Facebook: "My wee niece Jamie-Lee has now been found.
Since the disappearance on Tuesday the 14th March after 8 days she has just recently been found."Thanks to everyone in their contribution to finding her.
