Rebecca Black, who shot to fame as a teenager with the viral song Friday, has come out as queer. The singer and YouTuber revealed she had recently gone through a break-up with a woman, as she confirmed her sexuality on a recent episode of the podcast Dating Straight.
Black, now 22, spoke to podcast hosts Jack Dodge and Amy Ordman of the split, and said she now felt ready to come out after previously making a conscious decision not to.
She said: "People started asking and I stopped not responding. I'm still in the process." Black shot to fame when when she was just 13 years old when the music video for her song Friday was released on YouTube in February 2011, and rapidly became a viral sensation.
