Chelsea are expected to make a £75million bid for the Bayer Leverkusen star, who is also thought to be on the radar of Manchester United and Liverpool as well as German giants Bayern Munich.
Frank Lampard's side are expected to wrap up the £52million signing of RB Leipzig star Timo Werner in the coming days, and it is hoped the lure of linking up with his Germany teammate will help to persuade Havertz.
But 21-year-old Havertz is a man in demand, having scored five goals since the resumption of the Bundesliga to take his tally to 15 for the season in a ll competitions.
