Jennie McAlpine recently made a much-welcomed return to screens as Fiz Dobbs in Coronation Street. She left the cobbles in early 2023 as she landed a new job in Norwich where she worked at a different factory as a supervisor, upon the suggestion of serial killer Stephen Reid.
Fiz did decide to take the job but it was all part of actress Jennie's temporary exit as she headed on maternity leave to welcome her third child.
Several months on and the character is now back in Weatherfield, where she was reunited with her husband Tyrone and their children- Ruby and Hope - as well as her extended family.
But her return to Underworld wasn't quite as she was expecting. Fiz struggled with the fact that she was expected to go back to being a machinist and, when trying to share her ideas with factory boss Carla Barlow, she didn't feel listened to.
