It's been nearly 10 years since Alya Nazir first made her appearance in Weatherfield. The daughter of the late Kal Nazir and older sister of Zeedan first arrived in Coronation Street by enjoying a passionate clinch with Gary Windass and the character has been played by Sair Khan throughout that decade.

In 2022, she left to become Dee-Dee Bailey's legal secretary at Barlow Legal Services. She has had relationships with Gary, Luke Britton and Ryan Connor, splitting from the latter in 2021 after he appeared to have cheated on her with Daisy Midgeley.
