Liam Neeson will star in new thriller The Riker's Ghost, directed by The Crying Game mastermind, Neil Jordan.The iconic actor, 70, will play a convict set for release who is then forced to break a terrorist out of prison, reports Deadline.The film is set to begin filming in September, 2023 and is written by Sean O’Keefe and Brian Rudnick.The project will see Neeson reunite with Jordan and Parallel Film producer Alan Moloney after the trio worked on thriller Marlowe.Jordan said: 'This is a unique take on the prison escape. A bare knuckle ride from incarceration to freedom, by someone who just wants to finish his term. 'The reluctant escapee will be played by Liam Neeson, and I can’t wait to explore this character with him.

Personal items once owned by Peter Mayhew - who played Chewbacca in the Star Wars franchise - have been pulled from auction after his widow's public pleas. The wife of the actor, Angie Mayhew, told TMZ on Thursday morning that she was upset that an auction house in the UK was selling several of Peter's possessions. Ryedale Auctioneers was about to put up many personal items from his Star Wars days including scripts, call sheets, and signed photos owned by the towering 7foot3 British-American actor who passed away in 2019.However there was a resolution found later on Thursday as Angie was able to come to an agreement with the auction house to get back the items.The Peter Mayhew Foundation Twitter posted: 'Started our morning on Zoom with @AngusAshworth from @RyedaleAuction1 and communicated our desire that Peter's items be returned to Angie and the Mayhew family.

Britney Spears' family and friends reportedly staged an intervention this week due to concerns 'she would die' over escalating substance abuse issues and mental health issues.TMZ reports those close to the 41-year-old singer - who sparked concern after a 'manic' restaurant episode last month - became alarmed by her 'erratic, volatile' behavior, due to taking medications that 'hype her up' and cause her to 'fly off the handle' regularly.They claim the pop icon has not been taking medication that would stabilize her moods - leading them to rent a house in the LA for 'several months' without Britney's knowledge for an intervention. One source told the publication: 'I'm afraid she's gonna die.'It was then planned to take Britney to the house where her husband Sam Asghari, 28, her manager, doctors and an interventionist would be waiting on Tuesday - with Britney set to receive medical treatment and psychological counseling for two months in the house.However, the singer is said to have become 'somewhat aware' of the plan and the intervention was scrapped.

Pink has revealed how her six-year-old son Jameson has coped with the loss of their late family nanny Trish, who died following a battle with cancer.In an interview with Women's Health, Pink, 43, revealed she has overheard her son speak with Trish and her late father Jim Moore, who also passed of cancer in 2021.'Talking about this makes me cry,' Pink told the magazine. 'Jameson will walk around the kitchen and go, "Hey, Grandpa, hey, Trish."' Prior to her passing, Trish told Pink's children she would be their angel, which the pop singer believes helped give her children a sense of closure after her death.Pink recalled how her young son spoke with Trish as they hiked through a hailstorm.
