Rapper Lil Tay, aged 14, has been found alive today, Thursday 10 August, despite an emotional statement from what appeared to be her family confirming her death only a day before.
The news has come as a shock to the fans whose outpouring of love and sadness spread over social media on Wednesday. In a sensational twist to the story, it turns out that Lil Tay, whose real name was thought to be Claire Hope but it turns out that isn't true, had her social media accounts hacked.
What's more, both her and her brother Jason Tian are safe and well. Speaking to TMZ, Tay said: "I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say." "It’s been a very traumatising 24 hours," the teenager went on, explaining that she was "bombarded" with messages and calls from loved ones all day.
Tay shared with the publication that the calls were "heartbreaking and tearful" and she was faced with an agonising time having to "sort out" the mess.
