A rape victim recorded her abuser confessing to attacking her 25 years earlier as he lay apparently dying in hospital. John Harper pounced on the terrified woman after holding a soldering iron to her neck and threatening to kill her.
The crime occurred at some time in 1993 at a house in Hurlford, Ayrshire, Scotland. But the victim did not see the 56-year-old again until July 2018 after being told Harper was "gravely ill" in Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock.
