Robert was a founding member of Southwest Wholesale, a music distribution company based in Houston, Texas.The company played a crucial role in liaising between independent record labels and stores during the 1990s and early 2000s, with a particular focus on promoting hip hop and rap music.
Southwest Wholesale is known to have collaborated with big-name labels like Cash Money Records.This label has since achieved considerable success, boasting artists such as Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake and DJ Khaled on its roster.
The sad news of Robert's passing at the age of 73 last week was announced on a Facebook page dedicated to the late music distributor.
