Motherwell star Blair Spittal thought he had equalised against Rangers and thought they were unlucky not to take a point from their 1-0 Ibrox defeat.Midfielder Spittal had a shot cleared off the line by James Tavernier in 85 minutes.Connor Goldson then booted the ball off the line at the right corner five minutes later, only for an offside flag to go up.That wasn’t the sum total of the visitors’ chances, however, with Harry Paton sending a shot wide from a good position early on, while Callum Slattery and Spittal both went close on a few occasions.A frustrated Spittal said: “I thought I had scored.

When I hit it, I thought it was going right in the corner, but I think its Tavernier at the back that clears it off the line.“I think we were unlucky not to take a point.“I think we more than matched Rangers for the full 90 minutes, bar maybe a wee 10-minute spell in the second half when they created a few chances and Kells [Liam Kelly] has got to make a few saves.“I don’t think you will ever come here and create as many chances as we did, but you can look on it and say we should be more clinical, and it’s the same story as last week.“We had numerous chances and half-chances, where we put Rangers under lots of pressure, forced them to change shape in the first half, because we caused them problems.“When you’re forcing Rangers to fling bodies in front of shots, there’s boys on the line, clearing balls, it comes down to fine margins in football, and we’re unlucky to come in on the wrong side of it.“But it’s just one of those where we’ve got to take our medicine and move on.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
