Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard admits he's desperate to get a new striker to bolster his side's attacking options. An injury to Jermain Defoe means Alfredo Morelos is the only fit striker available to the Ibrox boss and the Colombian is currently at the centre of transfer speculation over a move to Lille.

Speaking after the 1-0 win over Aberdeen, the Rangers manager emphasised the need for a new striker, but made clear Young Boys striker Jean-Pierre Nsame is not on his radar.

Gerrard revealed: "We're close on a couple of things that are brewing away but Nsame isn't a name we should be linked with."There are many other names out there but I can't control that."We can't go much longer with just one fit forward.
