Rangers ace Kemar Roofe’s young child is in hospital, the football club has confirmed. The 28-year-old was a last minute omission from the Rangers squad during today’s Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee United.

Boss Steven Gerrard told the press pre-match that the striker dropped out of the squad due to a ‘family issue’. The club later confirmed to fans that his child is currently in hospital.

In a tweet, the Ibrox side wrote: “Kemar Roofe’s young child is in hospital.
