Rangers have announced an operating profit of £252,000 as chairman John Bennett turned his attention to improving the club’s success in the recruitment and sale of players.The figure is down £5.5m on last year.
Despite claiming record commercial revenue, overall also revenue dropped from £86.8m to £83.3m for the year to June 2023.Costs (operating expenditure) were also up from last year – from £97m last year to £108m this time around.
It’s the second year running Rangers have recorded an operating profit. Twelve months ago the figure was £5.9million – boosted by the sale of Nathan Patterson to Everton and a run to the Europa League Final.
The figures don't take in the sacking of Michael Beale, who has been replaced by Philippe Clement, last month. Bennett said: “The club has, for the second year in succession, returned an operating profit.
