Rangers have responded to the SPFL 's announcement of a new sponsorship deal with cinch, claiming the new agreement provides "full vindication" of their position.
The Ibrox club refused to display the sponsor's logo or have players and staff appear in front of it due to a conflict of interest with a chairman Douglas Park' s firm, Park Motor Group.
The League have now confirmed that they have extended their sponsorship agreement with cinch, but that Rangers are no longer contractually obliged to promote cinch.
And the Govan outfit have now responded, saying the latest development means they were right to carry out the cinch blackout, and again questioned the league body's governance.“This is a full vindication of our stance throughout the past season and further highlights wide-ranging concerns regarding the corporate governance of the SPFL.” SPFL chief Neil Doncaster insisted that the terms of the new deal would not see other clubs lose out as a result of Rangers' exclusion.
