Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Rangers chairman Dave King valued Steven Gerrard's current crop of players at a mammoth £200m. It's easy to see why the ex- Ibrox chief is feeling bolshy - his former team are clear at the top of the Premiership and riding high in Europe with the help of a number of assets that could make them very rich in the near future.
The likes of Ryan Kent and Glen Kamara have hit new heights to help open up an 11-point gap that has put title 55 firmly in sight.
Gerrard has spoken about a reluctance to let go of his key men, but the reality of Scottish football is that every player has their price.
In the wake of King's claims, we've taken a look at popular transfer site Transfermarkt for their verdict on the current Gers squad.
