Rangers hero Charlie Adam has told talented midfileder Alex Lowry to bide his time at Ibrox. The Uddingston kid has managed to get himself back into the first team reckoning after a nasty injury in October kept him sidelined for months. But the signing of Todd Cantwell from Norwich earlier this week and Ianis Hagi's return from injury could see the 19-year-old's hopes of regular first team action diminish under Michael Beale.Supporters have yearned to see the risk-taking playmaker given more of an opportunity to unlock defences, with Lowry making just three first team outings so far this term. However, Adam - who spent six years in Govan between 20003-2009 - believes the teen talent will get his opportunity if he continues to work hard, because the Gers gaffer is already a big fan.

Adam told Grosvener Sport : "I would like to see more of Alex Lowry - but he has to remain patient and earn his chance. "Yes, I would like to see more of Alex Lowry, but he's got to earn it."He's got to be patient and bide his time.

Michael Beale likes him so there's nothing for him to worry about but he just has to be prepared and be ready for when his next opportunity comes along."Rangers welcome St Johnstone to Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon as they look to close the gap on leaders Celtic to six points, with the Hoops not playing until tomorrow when they travel to Dundee United.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
