Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard after he watched his Rangers side drop points for the first time this season. A 0-0 draw at the Tony Macaroni Arena has been met with the usual suggestions that they don't have the mentality to truly challenge Celtic at the top.

The Rangers boss admits it's always going to be aimed at them after two years of falling apart post-winter break but he's confident that it won't be the same old story this season.

He said: "We just couldn’t find the answer in the final third, but it feels different now. It feels like we have got more options.

It feels like we have better quality.“Some of the quality has only just arrived. We need to keep working, getting better and improving.“I’m not one who really looks back.
