More than 50 years after The Railway Children film first hit our screens, a sequel – The Railway Children Return – has finally been announced.
And the best bit? Actress Jenny Agutter, who starred in the 1968 TV series when she was just 16 years old, and then later reprised her role in the 1970 feature film, will be returning as Roberta ‘Bobbie’ Waterbury.The 68 year old shot to fame as the oldest of the Waterbury children in the 1970s original.
At the time, she starred alongisde Dinah Sheridan, Bernard Cribbins and the late actress Deddie Davies, who played the role of Mrs Nell Perks.TV star Jenny is well known for her role in the much-loved BBC period drama, Call The Midwife.
