Cops are probing a hate crime after racist graffiti was spray painted onto a building at a Scots playing field. The sickening slur was scrawled in red paint alongside offensive drawings, including a crude swastika, at the Linlithgow Bridge playing fields this weekend.

Cops have launched a probe into the vandalism, which they are treating as a hate crime. Officers are appealing for information after the Thistle changing room building was targeted in the incident between Friday evening and Saturday morning.A photograph of the vandalism show two racial slurs daubed on the wale alongside the vulgar drawings.Anyone with any information on the incident is being urged to get in touch with Police Scotland.Police Constable Anthony Hunt said: “Due to the nature of the graffiti, we are treating this as a hate crime.“Enquiries are ongoing and we are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone who is able to identify those responsible, to contact Police Scotland by calling 101 and using incident number 1629 of June 25, or call charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
