Police were scrambled to a home on Birchfield Road in Cheadle Heath just after 11.30am on Friday (September 3). The man - who is in his 40s - was taken to hospital, where he remains. They said the incident was out of character for the Stockport suburb. "It’s really quiet, there’s a lot of families especially with the school on the next street," one person said.
