Quentin Tarantino was very, very close to doing a movie on one of his favorite comic book heroes! In an interview on Amy Schumer‘s podcast (via The Guardian), the 57-year-old director/writer revealed that he had his heart set on making a Luke Cage starring Laurence Fishburne. “There was a time before all this Marvel s–t was coming out It was after Reservoir Dogs, it was before Pulp Fiction, and I had thought about doing Luke Cage,” Quentin shared. “Growing up I was a big comic-book collector, and my two favorite [comic books] were Luke Cage: Hero for Hire, later Luke Cage: Power Man, and Shang-Chi: Master of Kung Fu.” However, Quentin‘s friends talked him out of it because they thought Wesley Snipes would be better fit to play the titular
