Scary footage has surfaced of Queen Mary of Denmark being hit by a scooter during a Royal walkabout. Mary, 52, who ascended to the throne as Queen of Denmark earlier this year when her husband King Frederik took over, was on an official visit to Greenland when the incident occurred. The video shows the mother-of-four interacting with fans who had gathered to see the Royal couple and their youngest children, 13 year old twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine.

As Mary, donned in traditional attire, engages with the crowd, a scooter is seen brushing against her legs, causing her to lose balance and nearly fall.

Bystanders seem shocked and although Mary quickly regains her composure, she appears slightly rattled by the event. Following the incident, the Queen's security swiftly steps in to push back the scooter rider and later the Danish Royal House confirmed that Mary was unharmed.

According to MailOnline, the scooter rider was an elderly man who had attempted to get closer to Mary to shake her hand. However, he accidentally hit the accelerator, leading to the incident which left him also feeling shaken.
