Queen's private videos filmed by family seen in first look at new documentary

A behind the scenes look at the Queen's life is set to be shown to the world in a brand new documentary.The BBC documentary, titled Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen, is set to completely change how we see the monarch, with footage filmed by her family throughout her life.The documentary is set to be released to celebrate the upcoming Platinum Jubilee, and have released a new clip as a 'first look' for the show, which has never been seen by the public.The new clip shows Queen Elizabeth relaxing on the HMS Vanguard in the 1940s, the Royal Navy's latest battleship at the time.

You can sign up at the top of the page. The clip comes with audio extracts from The Queen's speeches from Christmas in 1996, as well as when she spoke to the Guildhall in June 1947 - a couple of months after returning from Africa, the Mirror reports.

Simon Young, the BBC's commissioning editor for history, said he was honoured that the royal family had "entrusted the BBC with such unprecedented access" of their home life of the Queen and her family. "This documentary is an extraordinary glimpse into a deeply personal side of the Royal Family that is rarely seen, and it's wonderful to be able to share it with the nation as we mark her Platinum Jubilee," he added in a statement.The documentary is 75 minutes long and will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, May 29.
