According to the Mirror, her eldest son and the future king, Prince Charles, 73, will be standing in for her at the event. The show takes place in Birmingham on July 28, and it will be another event the 96 year old monarch has pulled out of in recent months, including some parts of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Prince Edward, Princess Anne, and other senior royals are also reportedly scheduled to appear at the opening. Buckingham Palace has been approached for comment.

The news comes as Her Majesty has been struggling with "episodic mobility problems," according to a royal source.
