The Queen Mother put a large amount of her money into a trust fund for her great-grandchildren, but it was agreed Prince Harry would have more of the money than Prince William.

She died 19 years ago today in 2002 at the age of 101, and the logic behind the Queen Mother’s decision in her will is to do with how finances work in the Royal family.

When the Queen dies, Prince Charles will become king and William, the Duke of Cambridge, will take over from Charles and become the new Prince of Wales.This will mean William will take on the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate which funds the public, and charitable and private activities of the heir to the throne.
