A provisional trial date has been set for a man accused of the murder of Thomas Campbell. John Belfield, 30, is accused of killing Mr Campbell, who died following an incident at his home in Tameside in July 2022.
Mr Belfield was not in attendance at the hearing before Judge Nicholas Dean KC, the Recorder of Manchester, for a plea hearing though he was represented by Richard Simons.
Prosecutors were represented by Nicholas de la Poer KC. During a plea hearing at Manchester Crown Court this morning (Mon), Mr Simons stated there would be a trial. No formal pleas were entered during the hearing. A provisional trial date was scheduled for November 18 this year, with an estimate of 15 days.
