Perth and Inverness was closed following a train derailment. The Highland Main Line was closed near Dalwhinnie on Saturday following the derailment of two rear vehicles on an overnight rail operations test train.The incident occurred at around 3am causing damage to the train and track but no passengers were on board and no one was injured.Railway engineers were on site from Saturday working to re-rail the train, repair the damage and get services reinstated for passengers and freight as soon as possible.Services on the route were reinstated yesterday (April 15).But the cause is still unknown and the incident is now under investigation, with Network Rail working with the Rail Accident Investigation Branch.Network Rail is also conducting its.
