Princess Margaret would say ‘follow your heart Harry' but reject Meghan, says expert

February 9 marks a sad and reflective day for the Queen as she faces 20 years without her little sister. Princess Margaret died aged 71 in 2002, but her legacy may live on in Prince Harry.

In 2020, the Duke of Sussex stepped down as a working royal and moved to America with Meghan Markle. Former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond suggests he’s made a move Margaret would encourage.

She exclusively tells OK!: “Perhaps Harry has something of his rebel great aunt about him, because he walked away. “The Princess was so gregarious and wilful and nearly gave up her rights of succession to be with Peter Townsend (a divorced man).

In the end she decided she preferred Royal life. But I wonder if she regretted walking away from the love of her life.” According to Jennie, Margaret would have had some understanding of Harry’s struggle living in Prince William’s shadow as spare to the heir.
