Princess Charlotte may be expected to get a job when she's older instead of being a full-time Royal, due to King Charles III's alleged plans for a 'slimmed-down' monarchy.

King Charles, 74, may have plans to streamline the monarchy following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, meaning the number of working Royals could be significantly reduced. This could see Charlotte, seven, who is the daughter of the Prince and Princess of Wales, get a regular job when she is older, according to the Daily Mail's Richard Eden.

Writing in his Palace Confidential newsletter, Richard explained: "From what I hear, the Prince and Princess of Wales want Charlotte, aged seven, to grow up with the expectation that she will get a job and not be a full-time royal." This alleged career path for seven year old Charlotte would fit in with Charles' reported plans for a slimmed-down monarchy - a vision the Prince of Wales, 40, is also said to share.

However, sources have claimed that King Charles has no immediate plans to reduce the number of working royals from its current number of 11, despite much speculation.
