Prince William is thought to soon fall out with the BBC again in the wake of its upcoming TV programme The Reckoning. The drama is about the late TV presenter Jimmy Savile who, over the duration of his lifetime, is said to have preyed on around 500 vulnerable victims as young as two years old.
He died in 2011 aged 84 and never faced justice for his crimes. In the new BBC drama, Steve Coogan will play the prolific paedophile. The series is expected to air later this year.
But, it’s believed the series will also have a scene where the late Princess Diana (who will be portrayed by Kate Tickle) will meet Jimmy.
A source told The Sun: “Prince William would have preferred not to see his mother feature alongside this vile monster at all. “But he would be particularly displeased that it’s in a BBC show — and one that’s proved so controversial.” They added: “Although Diana was one of the important people who Savile ingratiated himself with, there were many others whose influence played a greater part in him getting access to young people and hiding in plain sight.” William’s anger comes after the father-of-three branded his late mother’s interview with former BBC journalist Martin Bashir as being “deceitful”.
