Unfortunately it seems to have raised awareness of something else entirely — a continued environment of what one might charitably call racial insensitivity.
One of the guests for the reception was Ngozi Fulani, the CEO of London’s Sistah Space — a nonprofit which helps Black women affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse.
She was supposed to be honored at the event, along with all the other charity organizers. Instead, she was mortified.
